Russell Gollard, MD BOARD CERTIFIED

Dr. Gollard completed his medical training at the University of Southern California School of Medicine in Los Angeles, California, and completed his residency at the University of Southern California Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Dr. Gollard has a desire to help others and improve the quality of medicine, and that is what he has done for the past 20 years. His personal mission is to help people to the best of his ability during the most difficult time of their lives.

Board certified in internal medicine, hematology and medical oncology, Dr. Gollard prides himself in keeping up on the most recent scientific advances. He is an instructor at University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and also mentors local students

When not caring for his patients, Dr. Gollard enjoys travel, theatre, cooking and running.

Edgardo Faylona, MD

Dr. Faylona completed his medical training at the University of the Philippines in Manila, Philippines, and completed his residency at St. Gerard Hospital in San Pablo City, Philippines, and Ravenswood Hospital Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois.

Dr. Faylona has worked in oncology for over three decades and comes from a family of doctors, his paternal grandfather was the first doctor in his hometown (graduated 1931). His grandfather had three sons, all of whom became doctors. Dr. Faylona chose oncology because he felt it was the most challenging field in medicine and one that is evolving rapidly. He is engaged in those new advances – new oncology treatments that involve non-chemotherapy drugs.

In his personal life, Faylona has creative pursuits in music, playing not just guitar but also keyboard and drums. He also enjoys photography.

Gilbert Nyamuswa, MD BOARD CERTIFIED

Dr. Nyamuswa completed his medical training at Godfrey Huggins School of Medicine, University of Zimbabwe in Harare, Zimbabwe, and completed his residency at the College of Physicians & Surgeons, Columbia University, and Harlem Hospital Center in New York, New York.

Dr. Nyamuswa has over 30 years of experience in the medical profession. Helping patients during a difficult period in their lives is very meaningful to him, and he puts his understanding of scientific principles and clinical scenarios to bring about the most positive outcomes for them.

Dr. Nyamuswa participates as a clinical investigator in clinical medical trials, helping to advance patient care right here in Las Vegas. He also serves as a trustee with Southern Nevada Cancer Research Foundation and is a preceptor for the University of Nevada School of Medicine.

When not in the office, you can find him riding his bicycle towards Lake Mead.

John Ellerton, MD BOARD CERTIFIED

Dr. Ellerton joins Nevada Cancer Specialists and specializes in oncology. A practicing physician for more than 35 years, he was inspired as a young man by a physician who lived with his family for a time and whose approach to his patients was selfless, caring and wholly dedicated. Dr. Ellerton is very involved in clinical trials, which are the scientific backbone of oncology. He also leads a state-wide cancer control and treatment program, which has been funded by the National Cancer Institute for more than 30 years.

Dr. Ellerton teaches both residents and medical students and is president of the Clark County Medical Society Scholarship Fund, which provides help to Clark County residents attending medical school in Nevada.

Ellerton completed his medical training at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada and completed his residency at St. Michael’s Hospital, University of Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Michael Becker, DO BOARD CERTIFIED

Dr. Becker is originally from Los Angeles and joined Nevada Cancer Specialists after fulfilling his obligation to the U.S. Army, where he was selected for promotion to Lieutenant Colonel prior to his separation in July 2010. His last assignment was as staff at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu. Dr. Becker is a board-certified radiation oncologists, with a primary interest in urologic oncology. He is married with three children.

Charina Toste, NP

Charina Toste completed her medical training at Walden University in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She has worked for 15 years in oncology. That’s because she has always enjoyed working with oncology patients – patients have always inspired her and continue to do so each and every day.

Charina Toste is active in the community as an annual participant in fundraisers for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Southern Nevada Chapter. She also serves as a clinical preceptor for both College of Southern Nevada and University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Nicolette (Nikki) Campagna, NP

Nicoletta Campagna, NP has been in nursing for over 20 years in various roles, most recently as a nurse practitioner specializing in oncology and hematology.

Her time working with oncology patients has taught her that every day is a gift and that we should live life to its fullest, leaving our footprints where we can. She finds great satisfaction in knowing she’s made a difference in the lives of patients and their families.

In the community, Campagna volunteers with the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PANCAN) Las Vegas Affiliate. She has also spoken at Purple Lights, part of the Purple Strides Planning Committee which ultimately raised over $100,000 in 2017. Campagna also participated in Advocacy Days in Washington, DC, meeting with legislators on the topic of pancreatic cancer research and funding.

Campagna completed her medical training at Concordia University in Mequon, Wisconsin and is a certified Family Practice and Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner (AOCNP).

She enjoys traveling, reading and hiking during her free time.
